There’s no denying Minnesota Aurora FC made both a local and national impact in the world of women’s soccer last year, and the club was officially recognized for both over the past week.

The USL W League named Aurora “Organization of the Year” on Friday.

“The W League is excited to name Minnesota Aurora FC Organization of the Year after the incredible season the club had both on and off the field in 2022,” said USL Super League and W League President Amanda Vandervort,. “From the start Aurora created and fostered an authentic connection to its community. It’s a connection that has inspired girls and women not only in Minnesota, but across the country.”

In addition, the Minnesota chapter of National Girls and Women in Sports Day named Aurora 2022 “Milestone Award” winners.

Aurora enter their second year as a club in 2023, following last year’s successful inaugural regular season and run to the USL W League Final. The team averaged 5,500 fans at TCO Stadium in Eagan, and set a league attendance record with 6,500 fans on hand for the championship match.
