Minnesota United FC eMLS representative took home the second place honors at the 2023 eMLS League Series 1, falling to Atlanta United’s PauloNeto over two legs, 9-1.

Lamps, the No. 1 overall seed, made a brilliant run to the Grand Finals but couldn’t overcome the 2022 eMLS Cup Champion in PauloNeto. The bracket can be found here.

The Atlanta United representative is a veteran of the field, who finished top-eight overall across the world in the 2022 FIFAe World Cup. Lamps and PauloNeto represented North America at the tournament together.

With the second place honors, Lamps took home $5,000 from the LS1 tournament & will now look to prepare for League Series 2 (LS2) in a few weeks time. Highligting his LS1 performance was this strike from 96-rated Prime Ronaldo Nazario, a curling effort from outside the box in the semifinal match against FC dallas representative AlanAvi — a goal that helped secure Lamps place in the Grand Final.

LS2 will take place February 7-12, a competition where Lamps knows how to win. The MNUFC representative was crowned Champion of LS2 in 2022, where he pulled off a massive upset as the No. 7 overall seed.

Following the completion of LS2 in February, eMLS representatives will look to qualify and compete for the honorable eMLS Cup on March 11-12 and compete for a prize pool of $100k.
