It’s been a long time coming, but Medina, MN native Caden Clark is finally with RB Leipzig and set to join the Bundesliga squad’s senior team. Clark will wear #28 and begin training with the first team in the coming days.

This comes nearly two years after Clark’s contract with New York Red Bulls triggered a clause to join Leipzig, but the German side decided to loan Clark back to MLS.

“He’s a young and talented player who we want to develop,” said Leipzig head coach Marco Rose. “We’re pleased that he’s coming.”

Over three seasons, Clark made 49 appearances for the RBNY first-team, notching eight goals and four assists. The attacker also made 17 appearances with RBNYII, in both USL Championship and MLS NEXT Pro, scoring four goals and adding five assists.

It’s important to note Clark picked up an injury at a USMNT U20 camp in April of last year, causing the 19-year old to miss nearly two months of the season, and the effects of the injury seemed to carry through the entire year.

“He’s coming to Leipzig and he’ll join the squad,” said Rose. “I think he’ll need some time. He was injured for a long time.”

Clark’s contract with Leipzig runs through 2025.
