Meet the Team
Jeremy Rushing – Founder/Managing Editor

Jeremy is the founder of 10,000 Pitches podcast network and now Sota Soccer. Previously, he covered Minnesota United for Zone Coverage.
You can hear Jeremy on pretty much every podcast, watch and listen to his exclusive club and player interviews, and read his Minnesota United match previews.
In addition to being an unfortunate Everton supporter and losing his voice any time the USMNT and Illinois Fighting Illini play, Jeremy works as a Digital Marketing Strategist and is the luckiest future husband of a fantastic woman and adoring father of two amazing daughters.

Jon Marthaler – Minnesota United Writer

Jon has been writing about Minnesota United FC since three team names and two stadiums ago. He’s written about virtually every sport under the sun for the Star Tribune, for the Minnesota Daily, for a bunch of local blogs, and in a whole pile of kids’ books.

Eli Hoff – Minnesota United Writer

Eli writes analytical columns and stories about Minnesota United, occasionally appearing on Post Loons and other podcasts, too.
He’s previously served as the managing editor of E Pluribus Loonum, where he began covering the team. His soccer-related work has also appeared in Major League Soccer.
Outside the press box (but still in the newsroom), he’s pursuing a master’s degree in data and investigative reporting from the University of Missouri’s School of Journalism.

Matthew Johnson – Lower League Reporter

Matthew “MJ” Johnson is a freelance writer based in Minneapolis.
In 2007, he discovered UEFA Champions League. His complex spreadsheets went from college football bowl season to European club soccer, and his fandom soon followed. In 2011, a friend Wes made the mistake of inviting him to an NSC Minnesota Stars game, where he fell in love with local soccer.
Matthew co-hosts The Daves I Know podcast and occasionally guest hosts the MN Fútbol Show. When not playing broomball or watching soccer, he repairs bicycles and sharpens knives for money but fuses cuisines for fun.
